Tonight we had our playgroup's Christmas party at Betsy & Tommy Cook's house in Manoa. All the kids and most of the parents were there, so it was lots of fun. We saw the local parade (at least the end of it with Santa), then ate a great meal. Tommy played his guitar and led us all in singing some Christmas songs and then Santa came to bring presents to the kids. Aeryn's was the first present he pulled out of the bag, so he brought it over to her and she was delighted - but then we tried putting the kids on Santa's lap for each present. Aeryn was first and she hated it and wanted to get away from this strange man! Each of the other kids did the same - screaming and crying to get away from him. Only his 6-month old daughter seemed to be fascinated by him! Poor Santa had a complex by the end of giving out presents. Oh well - next year they will all be older and wiser in the ways of Santa.
