Aunties

From Sept 11-17, Barbara & Suzi came to visit us. Aeryn got sick for one night/day, but once recovered, she had a great time with them. We went to see the turtles on the beach at Haleiwa, and went to beaches at Waikiki, Lanikai, and Kailua. Of course we all ate like we were on vacation, except Aeryn, who is a dainty eater and never overeats. Having them here to play with Aeryn enabled me to get to a dermatology appointment and also to have time to go to the car dealer and buy a new car (2010 Honda CR-V). Aeryn and the Aunties developed a couple of little games. One was shaking hands and saying "Nice to meetcha." Another was the hand-bump with a little explosion afterwards. Aeryn had two favorite words this week, Homey and Freddie. We never knew what they meant, but another game that developed was when Suzi or Barbara would say, "When I say Homey, you say..." and Aeryn would say "Freddie." Then they would switch and say, "When I say Freddie, you say..." and Aeryn would say "Homey." She was consistent in answering the opposite way, so it really made us laugh. When we drove them to the airport to leave, Aeryn recognized where we were and said, "Flowers" - because we had gotten flower leis there for their arrival! We are already missing them so much today.
